Exciting news for over 300 kids in regional NSW! The NSW Office of Sport is organizing free overnight camps at seven sport and recreation centers across the state during the school holidays. Aimed at regional kids aged 12-15, this program offers a fantastic opportunity for them to engage in a range of activities, enjoy meals, and have accommodation provided.

The camps, supervised by qualified instructors, will feature an array of exciting activities, including mountain biking, BMX, stand-up paddleboarding, and survival skills. Safety is paramount, and all activities will be conducted under careful supervision to ensure the well-being of the participants.

Moreover, the sport and recreation centers are fully equipped to cater to special diets, medical conditions, and allergies, ensuring that every child can participate comfortably and safely.

Here are the camp dates and locations for your convenience:

  • Lake Burrendong: 3-5 July
  • Broken Bay: 3-5 July
  • Milson Island: 5-7 July
  • Borambola: 5-7 July
  • Lake Keepit: 5-7 July

It’s worth noting that the Holiday Break camps are made possible through the funding provided by the Office of Regional Youth’s Children and Young People Wellbeing Recovery Initiative as part of the NSW Government’s COVID-19 Economic Recovery Strategy.

Minister for Sport, Steve Kamper, expressed his enthusiasm for the camps, stating:

“Holiday Break camps are an opportunity for kids to challenge themselves, learn new skills and have fun.”

“And with camps from Borambola in the Riverina to Lake Keepit in the North West and Broken Bay on the Central Coast, we’ve got all corners of the State covered.”

“So, if your kids love sport, adventure or nature, book them into one of the NSW Government’s free Holiday Break camps these school holidays.”

It’s a fantastic initiative that provides children with a memorable and enriching experience, allowing them to explore their interests and enjoy a well-deserved break while creating lasting memories with peers. Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity!
