Fran Hurndall, a 31-year-old who has resided in Australia for the past eight years, possesses an unwavering passion for football that has persisted since the tender age of 7. Rather than engaging in traditional childhood activities, Fran could always be found donning a football kit and clutching a soccer ball.

On the upcoming date of July 20th, Fran will undertake a remarkable feat, striving to become the first woman ever to complete a 1000km run from the Gold Coast to Sydney while keeping a soccer ball at her feet. This impressive endeavor will involve covering a distance of 32km per day, spanning over a period of 32 days, coinciding with the FIFA Women’s World Cup. Ultimately, her ambitious journey will culminate at the finals held in Sydney ANZ stadium on August 20th.

With a deep appreciation for sports, particularly women’s participation, Fran aims to raise an impressive sum of $500,000 to generate awareness for this noble cause. In alignment with Women Sport Australia’s mission, Fran intends to ensure that women and girls in the sporting realm can envision and pursue their dreams, both on and off the field.

By embodying the phrase “You can’t be what you can’t see,” Fran aspires to inspire future generations of athletes to strive for greatness. Through her remarkable undertaking, she hopes to ignite a spark of motivation within young athletes, encouraging them to believe in their own potential and realize their aspirations in the sporting arena.
