Free ride for the Australian Masters Games

The 15th Australian Masters Games, in conjunction with Adelaide Metro, is pleased to offer free public transport across Adelaide to all Games competitors and volunteers throughout the 15th Australian Masters Games this October.

Using their Games Accreditation pass, visitors to the city will be able to travel free of charge using the extensive Adelaide Metro transport system, including buses, trains and trams across the greater Adelaide metropolitan area.

An Adelaide Metro spokesperson said it’s exciting to play a key role in showing Games participants all that Adelaide has to offer.

“With thousands of visitors descending on Adelaide as part of the Australian Masters Games, we are thrilled to welcome the many new faces to our city, and guide them safely on their journey.”

“Travel with Adelaide Metro, and we guarantee you won’t miss a moment of the action.”

Of most use to Games participants will be the ease of access to public transport from the Adelaide Convention Centre. Located at the heart of the revitalised Riverbank precinct, the Centre will form the Airbnb Games Village, and host both the opening and closing ceremonies, all nightly entertainment, as well as a number of sports and services across the ten day festival.

Trams can be accessed directly from the Adelaide Convention Centre, specifically outside the Adelaide Railway Station or the City West UniSA campus and services operate free between the Adelaide Entertainment Centre and South Terrace, including the Adelaide Convention Centre.

Buses are available on North Terrace as well as on Currie/Grenfell Street which is the main bus corridor through the CBD. A Free City Connector bus service also operates within the CBD with the closest bus stop located on King William Street.

The Adelaide railway station is also located one minute from the Centre. Taxis are also available.

The 15th Australian Masters Games is pleased to be able to offer this feature to its participants, and hopes it will only further enhance what will be the time of your life in Adelaide this October.
