Disability Sports Australia (DSA) has partnered with Variety Queensland as the Naming Rights Partner for the Abilities Unleashed – Kids Queensland program. The collaboration aims to engage children with disabilities in sport and physical activity by offering introductory sports days in partnership with local providers, helping them connect with local sporting opportunities.

This partnership builds on the success of the Variety Active Kids Sports Days, expanding its reach across Queensland to create more inclusive sporting environments. A total of 10 Abilities Unleashed Kids events will be held across regional and metropolitan areas, ensuring kids with disabilities have opportunities to get involved in sport.

Ayden Shaw, CEO of DSA, emphasised the importance of the partnership in creating pathways for children to start their sporting journey in a supportive and accessible environment. “The Abilities Unleashed program offers a great starting point for kids to try different sports while connecting with their local community,” Shaw said.

Kellie Turner, Variety Queensland’s Kid’s Support Manager, shared her excitement about reaching more kids. “Abilities Unleashed ensures kids with disabilities don’t sit on the sidelines but get to participate in fun, inclusive sports days,” Turner said.

This collaboration between Variety Queensland and Disability Sports Australia is dedicated to creating a more inclusive sports environment, empowering children with disabilities to thrive through sport.
