Sports Chiropractic Australia (SCA) is the national organisation for sports chiropractic in Australia, and is a special interest group of the Chiropractors' Association of Australia (National). SCA strongly believes in keeping the needs of the athlete as a top priority.
Sports Super has been formally endorsed by the Confederation of Australian Sport and CAS has accepted the Fund’s invitation to manage the distribution of rebate revenues back to the industry. Accordingly, once the target of $20 million in superannuation funds under management has been reached, which we anticipate within 12-18 months, the Fund will rebate 0.2% of the Fund balance annually back to the sports industry for its own use. As the Fund develops and grows, the industry will increasingly benefit (ie at $20m, $40,000 will be rebated; at $100m, $200,000 will be rebated; at $2 billion, $4 million will be rebated etc). CAS has accepted the role of determining the distribution method for these Funds back to the industry and to manage the process of distribution.”

Sportscover has once again agreed to continue their sponsorship of the Confederation. Sportscover is one of the world's leading sports insurance underwriters, with an accredited broker network stretching across the globe and dealing in accident, liability, property and contingency insurances for sport.
Sportscover's desire to assist community sports led to the creation of the Sportscover Sponsorship Fund (SSF) as an avenue to sponsor a wide variety of amateur sports men and women, striving to achieve sporting greatness across a broad cross-section of sports.
Over the last few years, the SSF has donated 50 x $1000 grants to grass-roots sporting clubs and associations. Please note the SSF is not currently accepting applications. However if you would like to be informed of future sponsorship opportunities with Sportscover, please register your details below.
CAS welcome's two new Board members – Neil Dalrymple (CEO, Bowls Australia) and Rob Bradley (CEO, RLSSA) whorecently joined the Confederation Board and will add considerable strength. We are thrilled to have Neil and Rob join the Board at a key time for the Confederation.
The recent directions paper from the new Minister for Sport provides some encouraging messages for the industry. How this translates to policy and practice will of course be the real outcomes which all sport will look towards. The location of sport within the Health portfolio is widely recognised as a positive first step. However reaching a point where sport is recognized by Government as a contributor in its own right and not just as an adjunct to other community and health program is the ultimate goal. That responsibility lies with the industry – it will be up to the collective voice of sport to demonstrate the role sport plays and the value it can deliver to the economy, communities, health and wellbeing of all Australians.
