Industry Engagement and Support
The Confederation of Australian Sport will play a key facilitation role in building collaboration within the sporting industry.
There will be two major elements in the development of this strategy.
- Industry Engagement and Support
- Conduit of industry opinion for Government
CAS will liaise with national sporting organisations, key industry participants and stakeholder groups to establish an effective mechanism for deriving cohesive industry opinion and of the communication and engagement structure that will most suit their needs.
CAS is aware of the heavy financial and time pressures already burdening organisations within the Australian Sport Industry and the CAS solution will not require a major resource allocation in either of these areas.
CAS aims to engage broad representation from national sporting organisations and interest groups across the spectrum of Australian sport and active recreation.
A communication system will be established to allow interested organisations to participate where and when they wish. Face to face networking opportunities will be provided and remote involvement will also be available for those wishing to take a more retrospect approach.
CAS will seek to engage with the following industry sectors:
- National Sporting Organisations
- Industry Leadership and Peak Bodies
- Manufacturers and suppliers
- Relevant broader active recreation stakeholder groups
- Other Non-Government Organisations (NGO’s) with an interest in sport and active recreation
The structure will enable interested industry stakeholders to contribute to the development of a considered, cooperative and insightful industry point of view. This approach will also ensure a better integration and articulation between national and state levels of sport to effectively highlight and address issues relating to community sport.
