Today marks one year-to-go until the 16th Australian Masters Games, and to celebrate this important milestone we have a number of significant announcements about what will be a very different, and uniquely Tasmanian masters games experience.The Games will be hosted throughout Tasmania’s North West, and some of today’s key announcements include:

– Devonport will host the opening ceremony that will incorporate engagement with the local community;

– Ulverstone will house the Games accreditation centre;

– Burnie will host the closing ceremony and a post Games community ‘after party;’ and

– The iconic Lake Barrington will host five different sports (rowing, canoe, canoe – outrigger, motorsport – hillclimb and dragon boat)

 

Details of the sport program were also unveiled today, with registrations for around 20 sports set to open on 21st November 2016. The remaining sports will open registrations on 21st February 2017.
